As a former corporate investigator at Kroll Associates in São Paulo, Marcos was a leader in Brazil in the development and application of technological tools for the analysis, search and recovery of assets and receivables, as well as money laundering detection, forensic auditing and fraud, violation of corporate policies, litigation support, business intelligence and commercial disputes.
In addition to designing and conducting investigative and due diligence solutions at DDR Brasil, he currently provides anti-money laundering training in Brazil in partnership with American firm GP Strategies and the International Compliance Association.
Norman is the founder and Senior Partner of NB Advisers, which provides risk management services to major organizations in a variety of sectors, and is one Brazil’s oldest operational risk consulting firms. In a career spanning almost 30 years, Norman was formerly Operations Manager for two Canadian investment firms—First Generation/CMLF and Resource Group—as well as a manager at London-based Midas Fund Management. With these groups he implemented and monitored governance structures, compliance, and risk controls, and was responsible for assessing and monitoring operational risks in their prospective and completed portfolio investments in Canada, USA, Asia, Australia and Africa. Norman has extensive knowledge of processes, procedures, and internal controls, as well as strategic management, corporate disclosure, and international marketing.
